Lautrec lithograph
Dear Mr. Evans:

Could you please tell me the subject (or title)and publisher of the attached Toulouse-Lautrec lithograph? It appears to be one of a series or from a portfolio because the number "4" is printed in the lower left margin of the print, below the image.  The print also has a pencil signature, "T-Lautrec" in the lower left corner, beginning in the margin and extending into the image.  The image itself is of a plump cafe' singer (pianist at upright piano to left) with a scruffy-looking audience member in the foreground. A female figure at right looks a little like Yvette Guilbert. The image size is 12 1/2 x 9 5/8 in. (31.5 x 24.5 cm)

Ellen, this is a typical subject matter of Toulouse Lautrec: scenes from the theatre. Compare your Toulouse Lautrec lithograph to these and read the descriptions about the works. They are often bearing the red T-L monogram, but not always. The signature "T-Lautrec" that yours has is also common. The owner of the above link has volumes of catalogs on Toulouse-Lautrec prints, and can probably give you very detailed information about what you own, including the publisher.
