|Comment||WOW! i could not believe how quickly you answered! i have not been able to find anything other than what the curator told my mother and some written family history. i will search out this book immediately. what little information i have has come from family history as i believe we have been the only owners. it was purchased for my stepfater's mother as a wedding present from her father and has come down to me through those family connections. i believe the painting to be titled Shadow of a Great Rock and was on display in Chicago in 1856. i truly love this painting and have no interest in selling it. but again, thank you very much. linda|
American Fine Art Paintings.
Oils, Watercolors, Sketches. Nineteenth and early Twentieth Century. Hudson River School, Pennsylvania Academy, Cape Ann artists, Ash Can, Woodstock, Florida Indian River, American Impressionists, etc. I can provide some background about artists and perhaps a rough appraisal or guidance towards obtaining a value. I am acquainted with many of the best American art dealers and auction houses. Original works only, I do not follow the print market. I do NOT field questions about prints.
Important to know
