How do I find out about an Artist and the piece?  Approximate purchase date 1969-71.  Bought from a Gift/Gallery store in Madison,WI. called Stevens.  The title and piece description were lost in transit from Europe where it was originally bought for the store.

Didn't see this before I answered last one....  

Very handsome picture!  I like the composition.  Sailboats in back add to it.  Looks very Scottish/British.  

Look up Trinity Fine Arts on the web.  They auction European pictures, perhaps could help you.
