Fine Art/Warhol signed in plate

Dear Dan,
I am trying to understand something more about Warhol's silkscreens. I know about Sunday B morning which released (and still releases) unsinged/unnumbered with the original '67 screens. Then I saw on Ebay (not a good place I know) someone selling a signed-in-plate Mao silkscreen, which sounds suspicious to me. I made some research but could not find information on a 1986 edition stamped in plate or stone. Do you know anything about it?

PS: link is this

I suppose a stencil or cutout could have been created during printing to print the signature, but it's not the same as an artist etching his or her name into a plate(plate signature).

Also, I'd have to do some research and see if the Warhol people approved of such a print.

Red Flag: Edition of 3000  <-- That's a big edition.

Another problem, the price range for prints with this image range from $4.00 up to $65,000.00  So you are right about Ebay....lot's of who knows what it be found there.

The only way around this issue is:

#1 Authenticity  <-- Costs $$$

#2. Appraisal   <-- costs $$

I do what I can for Free, but what you need takes research.

I can answer questions about Salvador Dali. While I cannot do FREE APPRAISALS, I might be able to help you sell your works. I can also help with Chagall, Miro, Picasso and other 20th Century Masters.

Questions about a type of art or medium can be answered with one response in most cases. Technical issues are easier to deal with than specifics about an artist. If you need help finding values or history on an artist, it will probably involve research that can sometimes take hours to complete. If you have more than one image to send, I will give you an alternate email address as this system cannot handle multiple images.
