Question
Dear Mr. Evans,

I came across your name on the following web page:

http://en.allexperts.com/q/Fine-Art-3122/EXPERTS

I have a oil painting that I have been unable to identify. If by chance you might know the artist first name or even first initial.

Thank you so much for your time,

Angela

Answer
Hi Angela, you might be able to identify the signature at this site http://www.artistssignatures.com/ . I have a handful of artist signature books that I compare signatures to, but they are quite expensive and not worth it if you're just looking for one artist. Feel free to take a picture of the initials and I will check my sources for you. You can also try one of these fine art dealers near where you live http://www.ifaacertified.com/locate.html .

Sincerely,

Andrew Evans
