Fine Art/oil painting

QUESTION: I have an oil painting from my grandmothers estate which I know to be at least 80 years old but I can't read (nor understand) the signature. How do I find out about this painting? It appears to be European with a man on a horse leading another horse with a yoke on. Th painters signature is something like t. B...l......? If someone will respond I will photograph the painting and send a picture.

ANSWER: Hi Gary,

I would be happy to take a look at the piece and the signature. Attach an image of it to your reply.

Thank you,

Hi Gary,

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with this artist and signature but can perhaps recommend trying when you have some spare time to further research this signature. I can also recommend contacting Bonhams auctions at  They work with a wide variety of artists and might be able to recognize this work.

I hope that this information can be of assistance.  Best of luck to you!
