Question
I have a signed painting by W E Lockhart.  It is titled Moorish Hills, Cordova, Spain.  Could you give me an idea of its value, and where I should sell it?
With thanks.

Answer
Hello Lucy,

Unfortunately, I am not very familiar with the artist W E Lockhart.  However, I browsed a few online art databases for William Ewart Lockhart's paintings, and his paintings appear to go at auction for varied prices ranging anywhere from $1,500 - $30,000.  I recommend contacting Bonhams  auctions http://www.bonhams.com/locations/region/UNITED_KINGDOM/ or Sotheby's http://www.sothebys.com/en/inside/locations-worldwide/london/overview.html  or Christie's http://www.christies.com/about/locations/king-street/auctions as they would likely be able to give you an accurate valuation and perhaps assist in the sale of this work.

I hope that this information can be of some assistance.

Best,
