Dear Andrew,

I'm really hoping you can help.

I recently purchased a Chagall lithograph from a dealer in 20th Century lighting, furniture and art (who informed me that they purchased the print from a Frenchman who visits old printhouses.) I would be grateful if you could give me any information on its authenticity, as it is signed but not numbered. I also do not know the name of the work.

Thank you very much. I would be happy to supply further pictures if necessary.

Answer
Hello Kate,

Unfortunately, this print looks to be a reproduction with a printed signature (NOT hand signed).  Reproductions do not have collectible value, as they are not original prints. For examples of Chagall's original prints, please reference the below link: http://www.masterworksfineart.com/inventory/chagall/

Hopefully you can enjoy the image of this work and appreciate its decorative appeal. I am sorry to not bear better news, but I do hope that this information can be of some assistance.

Best,

Andrew Evans
