Forti Print
Brent:

I bought this print at a yard sale in its original victorian frame. I appears to be a black and white image
printed on a watercolor board that has been painstakingly recolred by hand. I is really quite striking and well done. I have had it professionally preserved. What have I got here?

Answer
Hello Dave,

Your hand colored etching is by popular Italian artist Ettore Forti who was active in the late 19th Century.  What size is your print, most period pieces were fairly small, under 12 inches.  Comparable works have sold for over $1,000.00.  Well worth having the work properly conserved by a qualified conservator.

Cheers, Brent
