Fine Art/Original etvhing of Kaethe Kollwitz

I was given this self portrait etching as a present in the 70's. On the back of
this framed etching it say Self Portrait Original etching (Restrike)' KI#155 from
Fardenard Potter Galleries, Baltimore, MD. How valuable is this -if at all.
thanks Ron L

Hello Ronald,

Käthe Kollwitz (1867-1945) was a very important German artist.  Check out this link for a terrific overview.  The print you have is a restrike, a copy from the orignal plate printed after the artist died.  The artist created a number of works that were titled 'self portrait' so without seeing the print I cannot tell you which one you have.  Original prints sell for $2,000.00 - $5,000.00 at auction, restrikes are worth about 1/10 as much on average.

Cheers, Brent
