Fine Art/Rembrandt's The Return of the Prodigal son

Question
Which subject do you feel is the brother?  the man on the far right or the face in the far background?  I have to also write a critical analysis of this piece.  Can you give me any pointers?

Answer
Hi William
In my opinion the brother is the humbled looking figure at the very rear of the piece, It amazes me that what is portrayed in the bible as a joyous occasion is painted with such solemnity by Rembrandt. The contrast between the ragged clothing of the son and the rich garments of the Father illustrates the moral of the story extremely well and the warmth of fatherly love is highlighted by the strength of the embrace.
