Question
I have a painting of Chief Red Jacket That has been in my family for
years. The artist name is H.C.Ewers, or  H.E.Ewers.
The way he signed his name it could be either way.
It is on off white hard course type of paper that is irregular shape
and burned around the edges I guess for affect.
It is not oil base it almost looks like a water color.Looks as good as
an oil painting.
How can I find out if this painting has any value?
Who can I contact? I have no idea what to do.
The frame itself looks extremely old but all in good shape.

Answer
Dear Bill,

I am not sure who HC or HE Ewers is.  An image of the work is always most useful in such situations.  Are you able to email me good quality images of the front and back of the work?  If so send them to brent@landogallery.com or post them on a website and send me the link.

Thank you,  Brent
