Hello Lily

By chance I saw your question. I don't know whether this correspondence is still open, but just briefly, Edward Sharland was born in Bristol in 1888 and died in Cornwall in 1967. Mostly, his work is a bit pedestrian.

The Old Curiosity Shop print was published in 1921.

As for foxing, it is usually worthwhile to remove this as it will get worse, and do it especially if you like the picture! But the process involves bleaching the paper, so some care is needed not to overdo this. And the foxing can return after some time.

Best wishes

Peter
