Yes, indeed there is an artist H.S. Leighner!  There is one of his paintings in Ashland, Ohio on Sat. Feb. 16, 2008.   Good luck.

I also have a couple of small oil paintings, one signed H. Leighner is ~8x10 of a vase full of flowers in front of a window and the second is signed H.S. Leighner is ~8 1/2X11 of a vase full of flowers.

I would like to know more about this artist and the value of the paintings.

I have a painting by H. S. Leighner also. It's a 24"h x 12"w landscape with a very small campfire, a river and a full moon. There is just the hind to a person at the campfire. It belonged to my grandfather, but I have no idea where or when he acquired it. I have tried to find info on the artist, also, but there seems to be little to no info, other than he was a Hudson River School artist. The search continues.
