This is most likely a Hubert Lewis piece, American artist 1865-1952. Please see www.hlewisartist.com for more information about H. Lewis.

I believe that this painting is signed H Lewis, not Henry. It looks like the signature of my great-grandfather Hubert Lewis. Please see hlewisartist.com for more info.

Dear Gregory,

Thank you for contacting me through my website www.hlewisartist.com. It would seem there has been confusion with identifying some of Hubert Lewis's works, though I cannot view the signature on this photo, it does look like a Hubert Lewis painting. You wrote me that the signature you have matches the Hubert Lewis signatures I have posted on my website. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have seen your posting here on Allexperts and wondered if it was a Hubert Lewis work. Now we both know.
