Hi Lorina,

Have you tried the manufacturer Turner Mfg. Co.?  It is/was a wall accesory company that printed the object you are asking about. This is all the info I have on this piece. Hope it can come to some use?

There is such an artist by the name of Tretchiko. I have one his Lithograph's, titled,"The Dying Swan". It is beautiful.

hi my name is elvis Rosado out of philadelphia & this is spookie because about 7 or 8 years ago I found this painting in the trash of a neighbor who sells stuff at flea markets & decided to bring it home. well i was just in my basement & I came across it and decided to run the name through the internet and first try here we are. Yes the name is tretchiko & it is apainting of a woman with a blue face with what looks like an asian dress yellow shoulders but the sleeves are not painted. WOW

I was jsut visiting my daughter in law who has a copy of this painting and we were remarking on my love of it form yers ago and the cooincidence that she has it.  The very next day my son saw an article about Tretchiko in the news.  He was a quite famous painter in his day, a precursor the Wharhol et al.  Check teh NY Times for late august articles.

You have the right name. I have this painting in my house. My mother bought this in the in late 60s. I have not seen it in shops but I see reprints of it on ebay. The painting is called "The Chinese Lady". Good luck, I hope this helps.

Lorna.  I just found your question--2 years after you asked it.  I have the painting you asked about.  My mom bought it back in the 50's, and I have it now.  The black-haired lady has a turquoise-ish colored face and red lips, and the top of her dress is yellow.  The name Tretchiko is signed on the front, but on the back is printed, "THE CHINESE GIRL BY TRETCHIKOFF." The price tag is still there--$22.95, rather high for the 50's, especially on my mom's wages.

We happened to buy a storage unit at auction last week that contained a painting of a blue-green faced asian woman  wearing an ochre colored dress or blouse that has a yellow neck adorned with embroidery. She has black hair and ruby red lips. With the look on her face it seems as though she may be "green" with envy. The artist signed it TRETCHIKO. Framed with 4 shoots of bamboo.

hello my name is Kyle, and this is a quick response to Lorna's question regarding the painting of the Asian lady with the blue face. I just wanted to say a know a lady who owned a painting that matches that exact description. I remember that painting... in fact I may even have a photo of it. It was beautiful! She had a Blue face, with bright red lipstick, and she had her head tilted to the side with curls in her hair! I couldn't forget that painting, I loved it so much! it was absolutely gorgeous!

After reading what everyone else has wrote, I bought a copy of the blue chinese lady, with the vibrant hello and brown gown.  I bought it at a flea market in Webster, Florida from a northern traveling antique dealer for $5.00  it is a typical copy, but the painting caught my eye.  it is amazing.  Webster Giant flea market is 1 hour west of orlando, fl  open on mondays only, amazing this time of year.  looks like it is right out of china 1950's to me, who knows.  will keep researching it.  Tretchiko  is on the right hand bottom corner.

To Lorna, I think I may have 2 painting of with the name TRETCHIKO on it, one of a painting of a lady (blue I think) it was dark in the room when my mother ask me about it. But both have the name of  TRETCHIKO as the artist on it.

The woman is very beautiful,statuesque, with black hair and bangs. With a deep look of contememplation, some decision already made, or one to be made, wearing an aqua blue robe with gold trimmings.
