QUESTION: The only other writing on the picture is Orig. Printdirectly beneath the etching, and in the extreme lower left corner is D 4008 all written in pencil.

The back of the paper is completely blank, except for there is a raised square that was made form the imprint.
ANSWER: I'm sure the piece has good value because etchings and engravings have performed well at auctions etc.

Going to take some work to identify though.

Answer
Low end dtchings by living artsits sell in the low hundreds while masters works are setting records at auction. A Picasso etching fetched 1.2MILLION at Christies in Hong Kong.  Quite often a medium size etching by a name artist will bring $2500.00 or more.

Expertise

I can answer questions about Salvador Dali. While I cannot do FREE APPRAISALS, I might be able to help you sell your works. I can also help with Chagall, Miro, Picasso and other 20th Century Masters.

Questions about a type of art or medium can be answered with one response in most cases. Technical issues are easier to deal with than specifics about an artist. If you need help finding values or history on an artist, it will probably involve research that can sometimes take hours to complete. If you have more than one image to send, I will give you an alternate email address as this system cannot handle multiple images.
