in March ?
thanks

Answer
Dear Miriam,

Greetings from the Arctic Circle!

The chances of seeing Aurora Borealis (the northern lights) from Luosto in March are very good but nobody can guarantee that you will see Aurora Borealis.

The pulsating and multicoloured Aurora Borealis is born at a height of about 100 kilometers above ground level as electrically charged particles collide with the earth's atmosphere near the magnetic poles. Aurora Borealis can be seen from the beginning of September until April (but not every night). Actually March is a quite good time for seeing Aurora Borealis.

There is Aurora Borealis in 200 nights in Northern Finland every year. However, you don't see it always if it is too cloudy.
