i am helping my boyfriend with a project where he had to pick a career and do research on it to pass the class. I was wonering what are the exact college courses required to become a firemen, also is it required by most fire dept. to have a college degree before you a hired?

Having a degree depends on where you live. If you wanted to go to work for the Salt Lake City Fire Department you may need a degree, however if you go to work for a volunteer department in a small town you would not.
The exact college courses to be a firefighter can be found at www.uvu.edu/ufra (That is Utah) you may wish to find the required courses for your area by walking into a fire station and asking.
They will be able to answer these questions.
