Question hi I'm a high school student currently doing year 11 and i would like to know what subjects should i be doing in order to become a paramedic????
Answer Greetings Jade,
In the US there are some vocational studies that allow high school students to finish EMT training prior graduating. This, of course, varies from location to location, even in the same US.
At the other end of the spectrum lies the fact that many high schools will have a very narrow margin for "electives".
Technically speaking, all you will need is the high school diploma, which means that any class you take that lets you earn the diploma should be OK.
There is some very light math involved in EMS...basically in the field of algebra (equations, formulas, etc.). It's not rocket science, but knowing some basic stuff might help. You probably know all the math you'll need by now.
Can you take an anatomy/physiology elective? That will come in handy.
