Question
What grade do i have to complete at school to become a medical technician? And what subjects i have to do? And how long does it take to become medical technician

Answer
Hi,

I am assuming that by "medical technician" you actually mean "emergency medical technician". If not, please clarify. I will assume the latter.

EMTs can be either Basic, Intermediate or Paramedic (advanced) level. Most states will offer at least the Basic and Paramedic certifications. The EMT-Basic is a curriculum at least 110 hours long whereas the EMT-P usually totals over 840 hours. Some locations will require paramedic students to become EMT-Bs first and then practice for a year before opting for paramedic school, but these requirements vary widely from one jurisdiction to another.

Many junior colleges, private institutions and universities offer these trainings. Each may have its own admission requirements but most will require at least a high school diploma. There are no special pre-requisites as all you need is provided in EMT school.

I hope this answers your question. If there's anything else, feel free to contact me again.

Sincerely,

Gustavo E. Flores
