Question I wore a new pair of shoes and it rubbed skin off my ankle and started to bleed. I washed it and continued to walk on the uncovered wound. Then about a week ago it swelled up a bit. The swelling went down slightly and I thought I was ok. Then yesterday I walked quite a bit and woke up with it completely swollen with a black and blue area where the scab originally was. I was wondering if I have an infection or is it just minor and I can take care of it on my own?
The swelling of probably due to irritation to the tissue. The black and blue it a bruise. If it would become red, hot and swollen then it would be getting infected. I would keep it clean and dry till it heals. When you are wearing those shoes I would put some type of bandage over your ankle so that the shoe is not rubbing against your skin.
