First Aid/petroleum jelly consumption

Question
My friends dared me to consume a bottle of petroleum jelly and I did like an idiot but now my stomach is really killing me and I've been trying to force my self to vomit ever since yesterday, no painkillers like advil helped. I'm overall a healthy 18 year old I just have astma and allergies. Should I be concerned?

Answer
Hello Prosher,
Thank you for your question. Every individual's body processes foreign substances differently. As such, only a medical doctor can give definitive conclusion to your concern. Only they would be able to say whether or not there are risks involved with petroleum jelly consumption given your unique physiological processes. I would suggest if you feel ill or concerned, consult emergency medical care. I would, however, recommend calling your regional poison control center immediately at 1-800-222-1212. Good Luck.
