Subject: How to ask out a girl? and what to do on a first date

Question
QUESTION: Hi, im 15 and ive never gone on a date ever. ive had a girlfriend before tho. i met this girl and we have been talk through facebook, i dont have her number. should i ask her out through facebook or get her number and call her?

If she accepts what should i do with her on our first date?

ANSWER: Hi Joe,

Thanks for your question. In my opinion, sometimes it is best to go out at first with a group instead of just dating individually. That way it is less intimidating and stressful. Do people group date in your area? Evidently this girl is in your town? Do you think her parents will let her date and is she 15 also? It probably should be through the phone if you do decide instead of through facebook. But I don't really know how to do facebook. Ask a followup question with more information so I can advise you better.

Sincerely,
Diane W.

QUESTION: She just turned 17 she i about a year and a half older then me, she lives right outside my town about 10-15 minutes away. well pretty much ive just been chatting with her on facebook alot, and we into a ton of the same stuff, and we are getting along really well and of course a bunch of flirting. I dont know alot of people who would group date. im not sure if i should ask her for her number and call her and ask her out or ask her out and get her number at the same time

ANSWER: Hi again Joe,

Do you feel like she would go out with you if you do ask her? What do you think your parents would say or her parents. How would you ask her out if you don't have her phone #. I really don't know how facebook works. I say go with whatever feels more comfortable for you.
And did you figure out what you might want to do on the date? I recommend something or somewhere that you can talk or get to know each other. Such as eating out, going to a mall, miniature golf, etc, depending on where you live. Let me know if this helps.

Sincerely,
Diane W.

QUESTION: I did end up asking her out, and i got her number. she was coming into town that day so we decide to meet at a cafe for about 20 minutes, we are probably going to see a movie, and then dinner on the next date. I still havent told my parents, but they allready said i can date whoever i want, and her parents said it was ok to.

Thnks - Josef

Answer
Hi Josef,

Thanks for letting me know what has happened so far. I still wonder a little about the age difference at this time of your life. Just be careful. Treat her with respect, be yourself and be friends first and foremost. Don't worry about romance at this time of your life. It's more important to be friends. I hope I have helped.
