Question
QUESTION: Hey,

I met this girl named May a while ago. This past weekend on Halloween, her ex-boyfriend called her up to hangout. After saying she would get back to him, she contacted me. I already knew her before this, but had never really hung out. We got together on the night of Halloween and chilled till 2 ish. She even considered sleeping over. Shes a really great girl. Anyways since that night we've been texting non-stop and talking to each other on the phone for hours. Im planning on seeing her either tomro or the next day. I was thinking of taking her skating, or bowling, or to a movie; but she really just wants to stay inside. i dont really know what that means?
Anyways, my main problem is coming up with a topic to talk about... I dont want their to be an awkard silence. What can i talk about while chilling, during a movie, or anywhere...

ANSWER: hiya Jay,
look, at the letter you wrote me!! you answer your own question, you say you have txting and chatting on the phone for hours,so that's a start. Now, all you need to do is be yourself and talk about the stuff you two know about, what has been happening that day or even that week. i promise you you will be ok, ,just remember that she must be able to chat too. so just enjoy the evening, no matter what she wants to do.

QUESTION: But,

I just want their to be some kind of back-up topic!!!!

Answer
Jay,
there is no back up topic, there is no such thing, you must go with the flow, so to speak. Once the "icebreaker" is out of the way, the chat and talk will come as you move on with the date. If you remember that as you talk, you well always break into another topic,as you go. Don't worry about it, you will be fine, the date will go well, just don't monopolise the conversations, let her have her say too.
