Question I recieved an angel fish from a friend. The tank very very dirty Lots of green stuff. I bought a new tank. decor. rock. To me the angel fish is acting wierd. Being my frist angel fish I'm not sure of it's behavior. There is a filter and everything 2 high plants. 2 Big rock like decor. The trouble is that he/she swims sideways sometimes, and he hides? upside down fins up face down. I talked to two pet stores. One said it's normal the other said its not. I'm not sure how they hide. He moves when I touch him. At first I thought he went to fish heaven sometimes he swims fine. Please help me understand whats going on! I really like him. Could it be stress from the water change. He's been like this for about 4 days. Thanks
Answer It can be stress from the change but since he wasn't properly kept in the first place it could have been that. His behavior isn't normal and you shouldn't touch him even if he was fine as that will cause stress too. I suggest giving him time, their are no medications out for fish for that but you can add a little bit of aquarium salt and since they are different follow the directions on the box.
