Question My 1.5 gallon tank is home to my 1 male beta fish. We do a full water change once a month, and 25% water changes once a week. His fins look healthy, but his tank is getting dark green, wide streaks on the glass, and some of the gravel is turning black. What should I do?
Answer Hello Angie,
I strongly suggest you start doing complete water changes once a week. One and a half gallons is simply too small for such infrequent changes. Also, if it is near a window, remove it straight away. Direct sunlight greatly increases algae growth (the dark green you are seeing).
