Question My baby tiger barb had a close encounter with the filter. He can barely swim now, and his tankmates have been trying to kill him. His tail is now red and bleeding. I've isolated him in another tank. Is there anything else I can do for him?
Answer Add aquarium salt (will reduce stress, add electrolytes, and help heal wounds and prevent infection) and keep the water fresh, clean, and dechlorinated. You should never have baby fish in with adults. Most fish will eat anything they can fit in their mouths (though it's not necessarily good for them) and that includes smaller fish.
Remember it is good to do research BEFORE buying the fish - or any other animal. I can only help you so much over the internet, especially if you wait to get help until AFTER you have noticed something is wrong.
