Question I have a 55 gallon tank with 3 fish, 2 jacks and plecosimis.Just yesterady i noticed 1 jack acting listfull today when I came home it seemed to have lost scales and is turrning to it's side I will go to the pet store in the morning but would appreciate any suggestions. The tank has been set up for approxiamately 2.5 years
Answer Hi Mike;
It's probably from fighting. Jack Dempseys can be very aggressive even with fish they seem to do okay with for awhile. He may need to be separated. Watch the wounds to be sure they aren't getting infected. Make plenty of water changes so the risk of infections is lower. You could put in a divider to protect him while heals or just put him in a hospital tank.
