Question
I would like to know if its ok to put a beta in a bowl with an plain ivy? i ask this because I didn't know wether the roots of the ivy should be cut or not so that the beta doesn't get caught in them. The bowl is fairly big I am just concerned about the beta's safety.

Answer
Hey Ashli

It depends on what kind of Ivy you are thinking of. The poisonous
one will be leaking toxins into the water all day! But there are other types of Ivy that will not hurt them like
the really long ones that you can find along the river bank or by a pond or lake but I would wash it first leave it to dry then put in the water.

I have not kept ivy with Bettas before, I just researched your question.  If the Betta starts to change take the ivy out.

Hope this helps!     Jack
