Fish/Male Siamese fighting fish

Question
QUESTION: Hi
My male Siamese fighting fish started to make a lot of bubbles/foam at the top of his tank I cleaned it up but it kept coming back I was then told he was making a nest is this true? So I recently bought a female Siamese fighting fish I put her in a separate tank close up to the male’s tank so they can see each other. After a few days I decided to put the female in with the male. The male chases her around the tank puffing up his fins. I don’t know whether he is being territorial and trying to kill her or just showing off. Should I leave the female in a separate tank?

Thanks :)
Elicia

ANSWER: Never put a female in with a male..He will kill her..take her out immediately!

QUESTION: Thanks Lynda. I have already taken my female out the tank. Can my male not breed with my female? Is the bubble foam not a nest?

Cheers
Elicia

Answer
Remove the female, he will kill her...this is not the way to breed of keep bettsa.

Sorry you did not like my answer, but too many people think it is easy to breed bettas, and the poor female ends up killed....If you really want to breed bettas, you must read up on them, and never, never keep a female with a male.  My main concern is for the well being of fish, and that they are well cared for.  Male bettas always make a nest, with or without females... this is not a sign of spawning...sorry you did not like my answer, but those are the facts.
I would advise you to read up on Bettas, and how they breed.
