I will answer all questions as best I can, and if I am unsure of the answer, I will be willing to do research. I can answer questions about tetras, especially neon tetras. I can also answer questions on common diseases and parasites and how to treat them, and tank setups, maintenance, and cleaning. I can provide info. on cichlids (including breeding), goldfish, raising and breeding fancy guppies, and feeding your fish. If I don’t know the answer to your question, I will research and tell you my findings.
Experience I am 16 years old, but I have owned at least one fish tank since I was in elementary school. I now have a tank dedicated to raising and breeding fancy guppies, with much success. I have another tank with goldfish, which I’ve had the longest, and a larger tank with convict cichlid cichlids, which I have successfully bred, jewel cichlids, and an oscar. I’ve also raised and bred other cichlids as well. I used to have two other tanks, one with angel fish, and the other with tetras, which I recently got rid of. I’ve raised other fish such as catfish and gouramis along the way too. Since I have had fish so long I know much about diseases, and parasites, and how to treat them.
At the time i am writing this now i have:

Question I had a betta for several months before I had to leave for college. I took very good care of him and never had any problems. Now I want to set up a small aquarium in my dorm. I don't want to do anything too fancy. I was thinking about somewhere between 2-5 gallons (I’ve been looking at the Top Fin 2 gallon, Marineland Eclipse system 3, and the Marineland 5 gallon corner or hex tanks). I'm not exactly sure what to stock it with though. I think I would like some Mollies (like 2-3 if they'll safely fit), guppies, neon tetras, or a combination of the three. My friend who has been taking care of fish for years says that in a 2 gallon tank I might be able to have 2 Mollies, but some of the websites I've visited say that one molly needs at least 10 gallons of water. I was wondering what size aquarium you would recommend and how best to stock it.

i would suggest a five gallon, but a two gallon will work fine too. You'll just have to make sure that its clean. On the Internet, the sites often say that fish require a tank much larger than is actually needed. Also, i find that crown bettas are much more timid than normal bettas, so crown bettas can be kept with almost any other fish,that is its size or smaller.
