Question I have had my male betta for about 4 months, and I noticed today that he has lost all of his back and stomach fins. He is also acting different. He just lays at the bottom of his tank, upside down and just doesn't act like he used to. We recently added 2 goldfish to his tank just temporally. Will he be ok? And what can I do to save him if anything?
Answer Ashley, How big is your tank. Goldfish wastes are very strong. If your ammonia levels are high that would explain his problem. The ammonia is probably eating his fins if the golfish aren't. They are notorious cannibals and his fins look like food to them. This is definitely not a good mix at all. He will not be ok with the. If your tank is huge and he has lots of hiding maybe, but it probably isn't from what you are telling me. You are probably going to lose him. Move him to his own tank or bowl QUICK. Tina
