About Amber Worman
Expertise
I specialize in Gouramis, Black Moors, Fantail goldfish, and Bettas. I can answer questions about fish behavior, tank mates, diseases, and living conditions. I do not have much experience with breeding these types of fish, however.

Experience
Fish are my passion - I have raised these types of fish for as long as I can remember. I am a college student at Purdue University where I have a major in Biology and a position as a lab technician in a fish laboratory.

Follow-Ups to Answer from Expert Amber Worman

We just cleaned our fluval filter, and my son took off the bottom of the tube inside the tank to clean it, and didn't notice our beautiful black moor was right there. His eyeball got sucked up by the filter. We freaked out, he found the eyeball in the clean filter, tried putting it back on the fish, but it didn't work. We moved the fish to a smaller tank with only one goldfish not knowing if the fish would cause bacteria to the other fish polluting the tank. My son feels so very bad. I found this message, reading the fish can live without eyes. Right now his eye socket is all bloody. I just hope to God the fish is not suffering too bad. I know it is only a fish, but our fish are very tame and will eat right out of your hand. This is so sad. Just glad I found your message. At least now there is hope he will live. Thank you so much.
