Question
my fantaile gold fish has something on one side of her,the scales have slitly lifted and these white sticking out things and looks red and roar. its one big patch and one small patch.She is swimming around well and eating well.I just dont know what to do for her.

Answer
Hello Sharon-

Your fantail probably has a small injury that is slightly infected. To help her recover, do a 20% water change and add some Melafix and aquarium salt to the water. Both will help keep the wound clean and prevent healing. You can find them at WalMart or at most pet stores.
