Subject: sick Beta fish
Question
I've had a beta fish for almost 3 years now and all of a sudden he turned white and is leaning sideways on the bottom of the tank, we just changed the airstone in the filter, does this have anything to do my with my poor sick fishy?

Hello Alena-
It is hard to say without seeing your fish in person, but I would guess that your fish is suffering from either extremely cold temperatures (check to be sure his heater is working, 80 F is optimal) or some type of body fungus. If his water is not heated, use a desk lamp to raise the temperature and his color should return; if the tank is heated, you'll need to invest in some Maracide to kill off the body fungus - this can be found at PetsMart.
