Fish & Seafood - shrimp salad

Expert: Greg Shreenan - 8/13/2008

Question
First off..I am not a cook but like to experiment.. I have canned shrimp,Raman noodles, carrots, onions, celery. Anyway to fix this up and have either a great salad or soup?

Answer
Hello Carol, thanks for giving me the opportunity to help with your question.

Depending on your taste you could go either way.  The salad would be my choice but you would need some lettuce.  The soup is probably better suited if you only have the ingredients you listed.  There might be an order of operations though.

The carrots, onions and celery might take a bit longer to cook than the Raman noodles so I would boil them until they are soft and maybe add some seasoning salt to make the broth interesting.

Cook the Raman separately then add the noodles and the shrimp to the broth with the vegetables and simmer for another 5-10 minutes to heat the shrimp up a bit. They are already cooked so it shouldn't take but a few minutes to get them warmed up.

I am no great chef either but like you I learn by doing.

Hope I was of some help.

Your friend, the fish guy
