Fish & Seafood - seafood recipe

Expert: Greg Shreenan - 6/9/2009

Question
I am making a seafood dinner for guests that I call seafood thermadore. It's a combination of lobster, crab and shrimp in a cream base.Trying to save a dollarI purchased logistina instead of. lobster. When I got it home and checked it,it smelled really fishy and was somewhat chewy. I returned it to the store. Is it supposed to be like that? At 18.00 per lb. I didn't want the entire reCIPE to smell and taste fishy. aNY answer will be appreciated. The clerk said it is always like this   Thanks

Answer
Hi Darlene,

In short no it is not supposed to be like that!  You were right to bring it back.  I would recommend live lobster or frozen lobster tails from a reputable fish market.  It is probably old and a bit freezer burned.

I hope this helps and  good luck!

Your Friend, the fish guy,

Greg
