About Joe Douglas
Expertise I can answer questions on custom rod building and rod restoration and rod repair for bamboo, graphite and fiberglass fishing rods. I also have experience in estimating the value of vintage rods and determining the original manufacturer.
Experience I operate a custom rod building business providing fly rods, spey rods, casting and spinning rods in bamboo graphite and fiberglass. I have a personal interest in vintage rods and have a small collection of reference books and articles which often help shed light on the origins of the older rods.

Fishing - abercrombie and fitch off shore poles
Expert: Joe Douglas - 10/29/2009
Question I have two Abercrombie and Fitch off shore fishing poles in great shape and am trying to find out their worth. Would you be able to give me some idea or be able to direct me to where I can find the answer. They both have roller guides in great shape. One is a Monogram R - 30# pole - 6'6" long and the other is 30# Delux - 6'7" long.
Answer Hi Bruce,
These are a bit outside my area of expertise. I would probably do some searching for web sites similar to www.bloodydecks.com and post the descriptions there. The frequent participants in such forums are offshore experts and usually pretty knowledgeable about rods.
Thanks, Joe
