Fishing/rod value

Question
Hi Joe,

I have a Silaflex "Perfexion" Model 76 surf casting rod in near perfect condition, it does not look used at all.  I wonder at its current value and whether I should take it to use in Mexico on a coming sailfish trip.

Thanks,  John

Answer
Hi John,

I found information that tells me the Silaflex Perfexion model was launched in the late 1950s and was discontinued altogether after Browning bought the company in the early 1960s.  These rods appear to be good quality but I can't find anything that will help me set a value for the rod.  Sorry.

You might want to check on the discussion forum "Bloodydecks.com" for someone who is more familiar with this surf rod.

Unless it proves to be a really valuable rod, I would probably take it along.

Thanks,  Joe
