Is it? fly or casting rod ? Reel seat is below or above the cork handle ?
Check metal for id and patents ? What is it made of; bamboo ( flat sided) fiberglass or graphite ( round)? Weight in oz? What is the diameter of the rod above the cork? Where was it purchased ? What type of metal nickel-silver, tin, or chrome platted brass? A complete description of any logos or labels. Length of rod per section and number of sections. Total rod length.
Please read the following if the rod has either of the following two labels
Montague or H-I (Horrocks-Ibbotson).
They are looked down upon by the collecting community and often they are justified. They were mass produced , rather heavy and very slow. They are not going to resale for very much.

Question I have an old Orvis Rod and Reel, I believe it is from 1975 based on some of my own research but I cannot be sure. It is in a metal tube with a green sock. The yellow label on the tube reads Orvis Fullflex A Rod, Lentgh: 7 1/2 Ft. Weight: 27/8 oz. For: ORVIS-HDG (6). The rod itself also has these same specks written on the base of the shaft in black cursive writing. The label also has a picture of a side view of a man in hip waders with his right arm up in the air holding the rod. The handle is cork and is above the area where the reel is attached. The metal is silver and it has a section of light colored wood, which looks very nice. The two piece rod is reddish brown and the wraps that hold on the eyes are a tranparent yellow color. The reel casing is Black so one side is black and the the edge is also black. The reel part which pops in and out is silver with a black handle and center. The center says Orvis Madison in white writing. The black portion says Model 6/7, Made in the U.S.A.
I would really appreciate a estimate on the value of this combo in excellent condition. I am also interested in someone who could repair a similar rod.

Reels - not my area of expertise but I use Antique & Collectable Fishing Reels: Identification, Evaluation & Maintenance Homel, & Jellison. 1996. It does not mention a model 6/7 . Reels do not have the resale value of rods. Other Orvis reels top out at 35-$40 US in excellent condition.
The rod - is it bamboo (flat sides) or graphite / fiberglass ( round sided)?

I need a serial number to id your rod. It is on the rod if the rod is bamboo.
I never trust cloth socks and tubes for id, they can easily be switched.
I am going to assume you have a fiberglass fly / casting rod in one.

Homel gives the 7-71/2' "Fullflex" fiberglass fly rod c.1975 without an extra tip, 2 sections a value of $15, 40 and $80 for poor, good, excellent condition respectively.
