Question
Hi Robert, I have a ore wwII bamboo fly rod that says honor built honor sold .  I have all 4 pieces and the shape of the rod is extremely good. It has a number on it 1362-9.  It's about 9 ft long and has a plastic reel seat and cork handle.  Any ideas.  I did see the post from Molly 2010.  Thanks for your help, Frank

Answer
Frank,

your rod is made by Shakespeare out of kalamazoo michigan. 9 ft is the most common length fly rod. Your value is $100 to $150 range. Your rod was probably made by Horrocks Ibbotson or South Bend for Shakespeare since Shakespeare stopped making bamboo rods in the early 30s.
