Question
How do you lubricate spinning, spincast and baitcast reels?

Answer
In each case the way to lubricate the reel is based on the construction.
However with different models this can vary. IF you kept the instructions there is information on maintaining your   reel, including how to lubricate it.
In some reels the company will include a recommended lubricant for the reel.
If you have lost that lubricant try this:
http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchResults?searchOption=prod...
Copy the above line from the page and paste it to your browser.

This is a list of several kinds of Reel Lubricants that are Brand Specific. I like the Quantum Hot Sauce even though I use a lot of Shimano Reels.
If you can not find the directions figure out how to open the Reel... and simply apply the proper lubricant to the gears. Most fishing reel gears look like screws. Wipe any excess off and close the reel. DO NOT over lubricate. This can also cause problems. Again read the lubrication directions with the reel. IF you do not have those, doe a search on line for the kine of reel and you should find the directions.
