Aboutsilly_dreamer Expertise I can answer any question about Fleetwood Mac, members of Fleetwood Mac, songs, and other assorted band history. I am knowledgeable of most members of the band, including the Rumours-era formation (Buckingham, Nicks, J. McVie, C. McVie, and Fleetwood), as well as the earlier formations (1967-1974 line-ups). If I do not know an answer, I will either find an answer for you or direct you to someone or some material that may better be able to assist you.
Experience I have read anything I can get my hands on about the band. I own every album and have heard many unofficial, unreleased recordings. I have listened to/watched interviews. I have researched inaccuracies in books and interviews to try to find a more accurate account of the history of the band. Further, I tend to backup my thoughts with quotes, where available and appropriate.
i was just reading about the planned rhiannon movie, and stevie has stated interviews that she has songs for the project, she called them the rhiannon songs. I was just wondering what are the songs that are inspired by rhiannon?
Answer Hi John,
In 1983, Stevie said she had 20 songs written and recorded for an album about Rhiannon. Later, in 1989, she said that 11 songs were actually mastered and that she wanted to tour with them. The acknowledged songs inspired include a number of unreleased songs and demos, including:
Forest of the Black Roses
Lady From the Mountain
Maker of Birds/Three Birds of Rhiannon
Stay Away
Legend of the Song of the Birds of Rhiannon (unavailable)
Forsaken Love (Mistaken Love) (speculated by fans and from the master reel it was on, labeled "Movie Project")
And several released songs, as follows:
Angel [available on Fleetwood Mac's Tusk]
Goodbye Baby (demo: The Tower) [available on Fleetwood Mac's Say You Will]
Planets of the Universe (demo: No Light) [available on Stevie Nicks's Trouble in Shangri-La]
Sorcerer [Available on Stevie Nicks's Trouble in Shangri-La]
Rhiannon [Available on Fleetwood Mac's Fleetwood Mac (White Album)]
That seems to cover the 11 songs that Stevie was talking about! As for the 20... well, maybe there are more she has yet to record?
All of the lyrics and some speculation by fans is available at BuckinghamNicks.net (http://buckinghamnicks.net/sn/snlyrics.html) - just scroll down to or search for the song title that you want.
