I grew up in St.Petersburg, Fl. I remember The Oval Window Record Shop next to Steak 'n' Shake on 34th St N sponsoring that first Black Sabbath concert at the  Bayfront Center - but I don't remember the date. Southpaw opened the show. I knew all those guys. They had just added Rocky Ruckman as singer/guitar. I don't remember Electric Heat being there (I'm old now)and barely remember Fleetwood Mac there. I was at the Long John/Savoy Brown show too.

Absolutely - it was April 1971, and Fleetwood Mac was better than Black Sabbath.

The concert was April 4, 1971, and I'm pretty sure Peter G was playing that night. Of course, the focus was on Black Sabbath, so I can't remember, other than that Mac outplayed them.

Fleetwood Mac did play with Black Sabbath at FSU in 1971.  It was about the same time as the aforementioned St Petersburg gig.  Fleetwood Mac opened.  A good show.  It was in the gym.  We sat on the floor up front about 20 feet or so from the speakers.  Loud!

I saw Fleetwood Mac and Black Sabbath at Bayfront Center in St. Petersburg Fl

Black Sabbath opened and didn't play long, for this was a Fleetwood Mac crowd

and they yelled Fleetwood Mac over and over again until Black Sabbath walked

Peter Green was still with them, so it must have been 1970, I had candy corns

in my pocket, so it must have been November, right after Halloween.

This was one of the best concerts that I have ever seen in my life.

I am an Italian rock fan of several rock giants abnd of the Seventies...I have checked several concert files and I have discovered that Black Sabbath and Fleetwood Mac were on stage in St. Petersburg Bayfront Center Arena the 4th of March 1971.

I can answer any question about Fleetwood Mac, members of Fleetwood Mac, songs, and other assorted band history. I am knowledgeable of most members of the band, including the Rumours-era formation (Buckingham, Nicks, J. McVie, C. McVie, and Fleetwood), as well as the earlier formations (1967-1974 line-ups). If I do not know an answer, I will either find an answer for you or direct you to someone or some material that may better be able to assist you.

I have read anything I can get my hands on about the band. I own every album and have heard many unofficial, unreleased recordings. I have listened to/watched interviews. I have researched inaccuracies in books and interviews to try to find a more accurate account of the history of the band. Further, I tend to backup my thoughts with quotes, where available and appropriate.
