I can help. I have installed wood, laminates, tile, marble, ceramics, vinyl, and painted applications. I have done some stone work, but that is seldom used anymore.

My first work was in flooring and interior designs.   My first job... every room of the house was a different color of walls and carpet.   It can work...

Flooring and Carpeting - DIY Floating Installation Mistake

Expert: Dave Coil - 7/4/2008

Question
My husband and I have almost finished installing most of our engineered floating HW floor on cement slab and now find a low spot that we can't access. It's in an obvious spot (too bad it wasn't so obvious sooner) and seems significant. My husband thinks I'm crazy but I'm tempted to slide a straw way under there and squirt in some leveler - or something equally unrealistic. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Answer
Preparation is the key to all work.  A floating floor is mostly a way of installing a quick..no hassle floor for homeowners.  If the dip is more than 1/4"....it can be a small problem.  It is also possible that by putting some excessive weights in that area...that it can conform to the floor divit.....and not be too noticeable.
