Question I have the mannington audura plank flooring. the kind that you would glue down. My question is that I have heard that one must wait a long period of time before placing furniture on vinyl flooring because it will leave indentions in the flooring. Is this true? How much time should lapse before placing furniture on this product?
Thanks,
Melanie
Answer Hi Melanie; If you move heavy furniture or appliances back on the flooring immediately after installation, the adhesive won't be fully dry and the weight of furniture and appliances will cause the adhesive to spread out, leaving the indentations. Also, when moving appliances, lay down pieces of plywood on which to roll those appliances. Their weight will be dispersed over the large pieces of plywood so the flooring will not be affected. Make sure the plywood surfaces are clean, both top and bottom. You normally need about 24-48 hours after an installation before furniture and appliances should be moved back onto the flooring.
BEFORE you start the installation, make sure you have Mannington's installation instructions for Adura and follow them diligently. Don't guess or take short cuts. Do what those instructions indicate. You should have been given the installation specifications at the time of sale. If you don't have them, go to Mannington.com, click on residential, click on Adura, and type in installation in the search box. Then, BEFORE you start the installation, on the same website, download the maintenance information for Adura and use the products indicated in that manual. Don't buy supermarket type products. Use what Mannington indicates in that manual.
