Question we have an oak floor . There are a few scratches in the floor , in prominent areas . I don't want to refinish the whole floor . Can I lightly sand the area and re lacquer it , or fill the scratch?
The shine of the floor makes the scratches more visible? Any simple ,inexpensive way to dress it ?
Answer As long as you can tape off the surrounding area, and very lightly sand the scratch area...then a spray can of Lacquer (satin or semi gloss) should restore it nicely. Be sure to use mineral spirits or lacquer thinner to clean the area...remove any possible wax/dirt.
