Question
My room is an average size room but next to the garage which has a water heater in it.
Recently my room is like a sauna there are areas of the floor (which is hard wood floor on a concrete slab) that is HOT and the new wood floor we have is starting to bump up.
What could be the cause of this?
My dad just changed the water heater, that did not help.
Please help." I can not sleep in that room another night like this.
Answer
Wood will swell when wet. You can seal the wood with an epoxy coating to keep the water out. You can go to www.concrete-floor-coatings.com for a cost estimate. On wood you can sand and coat twice. Be sure the moisture is out from below before sealing.
