Flooring and Carpeting - mexican tile sealing

Expert: Carol Blaha - 10/28/2009

Question
I have just resealed my Mexican tile with an OIL based sealer, as I have always done. This time in a FEW areas the floors Seem to have had a reaction and some places are lifting. I am going to reseal these areas but how is the best way smooth out these affected areas.
Many thanks Peter

Answer
There is something that has been a bond breaker, orcould be lime "pops" coming from the tile itself.  Throughly clean the tile with detergent.  Make sure there is no oil or dirt.  You may have to abraid the surface in those areas that are lifting.

I thought I'd send you a link on troubleshooting-- and a great pix of lime pops.  http://www.aldonchem.com/popup-ab-mexican-tile-issues.htm
